A moderate earthquake centered near Schuyler has rattled eastern Nebraska. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake occurred at 7:02 a.m. CST on Thursday.
The USGS set the preliminary magnitude at 3.3 and says the quake occurred about three miles underground. So far, there have been no reports of major injuries or damage.
Several people have reported feeling the quake in Schuyler, David City, Linwood and Octavia. Witnesses say the earthquake only lasted for a few seconds and rattled furnishings. They say it also rattled their nerves and don't want to feel another one again.
