Nine-Year-Old Nebraska Boy Believed To Have Died From "Choking Game"

Keith County authorities say investigatorsbelieve a 9-year-old Ogallala boy died playing a ``choking game.''

Tyler Evan Anderson was found dead in his family's home Wednesday night. Keith County Attorney Blake Edwards said Friday that the boy's mother found him in his basement bedroom. Edwards says the boy had suspended a belt from an upper bunk bed and put his head through a loop in it while on the lower bunk.

Blake says the boy's mother tried to revive the boy while her husband called 911. In February, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that 82 children had died from the ``choking game,'' in which young people choke themselves or each other for the euphoric feeling they get as blood rushes back to the brain.
