New Nebraska job website created

A new job website has been created from the Nebraska Dept. of Labor and the Dept. of Economic Development.

NEworks, a new website providing a single interactive portal to jobs and labor market
information in Nebraska has been launched.

NEworks bridges the connection between employers and jobseekers, with specific emphasis on connecting students and graduates with employer needs in targeted, high skill occupations," says Richard Baier, Director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.

On average, NEworks has over 20,000 active real-time jobs available.
"Instead of navigating a smaller pool of jobs on multiple sites, our site subscribes to all of the other search engines," said Labor Commissioner Lang. "Jobseekers can now access listings from other employment sites, such as Monster, CareerBuilder, government and corporate websites, and newspaper job postings through one easy-to-use portal."

Besides searching for jobs, jobseekers can also register for employment services, complete skill assessments, and find training opportunities. Tools enable them to prepare cover letters, build
or import a resume. The system finds jobs automatically based on specified criteria and alerts the jobseeker of available jobs via email or text message notifications.

For employers, NEworks features a virtual recruiter that scans available applicants by skill, education, certifications, hiring preferences and other talent criteria, and refers top candidates to employers who can then create, maintain, rank, and automatically
update their own database of candidates.

NEworks offers access to a comprehensive database of labor market information. Users can research high-growth industries, skill requirements, in-demand jobs, etc., by region, town, zip code, county, metropolitan area or statewide, enabling jobseekers and employers to understand the characteristics of a labor market.
