Kelly grew up in the small town of Coventry, CT. One of her fondest childhood memories is going on cross country vacations in her family's motor home and she's always been interested in reporting. In middle school, she was chosen to do a behind the scenes story on her beloved Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston. They put her name on the scoreboard and she did her stand up in the Green Monster. "I was hooked!" says Kelly.
She graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at school, she interned at Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain and Fox 31 in Denver. She started out working at Channel 8 KLKN-TV as the morning news editor, but soon moved into a photojournalist position. Kelly says, "I love being able to help people tell their stories. Being a reporter challenges you with something different every day, but it's a rewarding adventure."
She says the winter wind chills in Lincoln are "brutal," but the beautiful fall and the kind people she meets make up for it. When she's not reporting, you might find her at the dog park with her black lab, Luca. She's a vegetarian who loves to run, play volleyball, and snowboard when she can make it back to Colorado!
