Megan Palera

Megan grew up on the beaches of California. She later took her love for swimming from the ocean to the pool where she swam competitively for 12 years. She was a two-time Olympic Trials qualifier and helped to lead the Penn State women's swim team to a Big Ten Championship during her time as co-captain.

Megan grew up watching the TODAY Show and says she's "always aspired to be a successful journalist like her mentor, Katie Couric." Prior to joining Channel 8 Eyewitness News, Megan worked as an award-winning journalist in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. She began as a producer for KEVN-TV and worked her way up through ranks to land the role of weekend anchor.

She loves meeting new people and says, "What better way to do it than to share that person's story with the rest of the world." When she's not working, you can usually find her at the gym or running around town. She likes to read, enjoy a Starbucks coffee with friends and is a die hard Penn State fan.  We Are … Penn State!
