Man tasered by deputies north of Lincoln

The Lancaster County Sheriff says the man was resisting arrest Thursday evening.

It happened at around 5 p.m. Thursday near Hwy 34 just outside Lincoln.  Sheriff Terry Wagner says the owner of the storage units at that location called the sheriff's office after arguing with a facility employee.  Wagner says when deputies arrived they found the employee, 48-year-old Paul Piersee and Piersee's wife intoxicated. The owner had told deputies that Piersee had waved a hammer at him in a threatening manner.

Sheriff Wagner says Piersee resisted arrest so deputies tasered him twice.  He was arrested for resisting arrest and obstructing an officer.  Piersee's wife was taken to the Detox Center.
