Building plans are beginning to emerge for what will be the new Lincoln Public Schools District Offices at 5901 O St.

The Lincoln Board of Education will hold an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Eastridge Elementary School, 6245 L St. - to talk with Eastridge neighbors about the development of 5901 O St.

The Board's meeting will be part of the regular gathering of the Eastridge Neighborhood Association.

The three-story building will be about 100,000 square feet – with an estimated 30,000-square-foot "footprint" and a tentatively sized 5,000-square-foot basement level, according to Scott Wieskamp, director of Facilities and Maintenance at LPS. But he stressed that at this point LPS is only sharing "emerging ideas" for the structure.  The property will also be home to commercial businesses.
