The Nebraska Department of Education Nutrition Services is seeking sponsors to operate the summer food service program in Nebraska.
Public or nonprofit private schools, residential camps, and local, county or state government sites are eligible to participate.
The program gives meals and snacks to children during the summer or during extended school breaks. The food is distributed at schools, churches, playgrounds or parks.
The summer food service program is designed to ensure that children in low-income areas can continue to receive meals when school is not in session.
