A car accident in a roundabout leads to two DUI arrests. According to Lincoln police, the car crash happened around 3 a.m. Monday morning near 98th and Pine Lake road. Police say 21-year-old Shawn Walker was heading down Pine Lake at about 50 miles per hour.
They say Walker didn't realize there was a roundabout and drove straight thru it, over the median, and landed into some mud. Officers say Walker switched seats with his passenger, 21-year-old Daniel Krupicka.
"From the reports it appears that the passenger jumped in and then tried to extricate the car from the mud so both were in actual physical control of the vehicle at one point...leading to two DUI arrests," Officer Katie Flood said.
Walker was ticketed for DUI and negligent driving. Krupicka was also cited for DUI and for not wearing a seat belt.
