A Lincoln family that is trying to heal their four-month-old baby's heart needs your help.

Baby Abby has already undergone three open-heart surgeries and is now trying to become a candidate for a trial study in Boston.

Those medical expenses can really add up so friends and family are hoping the community will give them a little support.

And friends and family are doing everything they can to save Abby Jo Foote.

She suffers from a heart defect and pulmonary vein stenosis--a narrowing of the veins to the heart.

Abby is nothing short of a miracle baby.

McKenna Keenan, a family friend, said, "Kerry and Luke made a promise to Abby that they would do everything to heal her heart because she healed their broken heart from the loss of DJ."

DJ was the Foote's first child who passed away at seven months from SIDS.

The couple found out they were pregnant with Abby on what would have been DJ's first birthday.  It's been a rough road for the family as Abby has now spent more than 10 weeks in intensive care at the Children's Hospital in Omaha.

As the medical expenses continue to buildup, these ladies felt it was time to reach out to the community.

Anne Rupp, another family friend, said, "They're just truly genuine loving people."

At the "Healing Hearts" fundraiser, purple will be a prominent color.  Back in the hospital, purple meant that Abby was breathing on her own.

And prayers are exactly what Abby could use as she gets ready to head to Boston for a trial study that will hopefully reverse her stenosis.

All they have to do is see the picture of Baby Abby," said Rupp.  "That should bring so many people alone."

The fundraiser is this Saturday from 5:00 to 10:00 at the Center for People in Need.  U.S. Bank is also accepting donation accounts for Abigail J. Foote.
