Authorities continue to look for one of two suspects.
The Gage County Sheriff's office says just before 4 a.m., deputies responded to a burglar alarm at Blue Springs Keno. Deputies found a door pried open, and several items missing from inside. Sheriff Gus Gustafson says at that times, deputies were notified of a burglary in progress at the Grand Avenue Bar in Barneston.
While responding to Barneston, a Sheriff's Deputy saw a vehicle leaving Barneston at a high rate of speed. The Sheriff says the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but a pursuit began near Hwy 77 and Hwy 8. Speeds reached 115 mph. The vehicle continued through Wymore on Highway 77 and left the highway and entered Blue Springs. The Sheriff says the chase continued toward Holmesville and onto gravel roads. The deputy continued following the car into Beatrice on Hwy 136 where spike strips were deployed by the Beatrice Police Department.
The vehicle stopped near Court and Scott Streets and a foot pursuit ensued with two male suspects. The Sheriff's Deputy was able to arrest one of the suspects during the foot pursuit. The second suspect could not be found. The Sheriff says the vehicle involved in the pursuit was later identified as a stolen vehicle from a Blue Springs residence.
The juvenile male that was apprehended is being charged with several felony and misdemeanor charges along with numerous traffic infractions. A person of interest has also been arrested and is facing separate charges not related to the incident. Several other burglaries are currently being investigated in Gage County and also in Jefferson County that are believed to be related.
