Wilber police say the woman who's SUV plunged into small lake in Wilber died over the weekend.
Wilber Police Chief Stephen Sunday says 50-year-old Sheri E. Fuller-Bruns of Wilber died. However, there are no details available on the cause of death. Last Thursday morning, Bruns's SUV crashed into the lake just west of Wilber-Clatonia school.
Several officers and witnesses swam out to her vehicle to save her. Chief Sunday Fuller-Bruns she may have suffered a medical episode causing her to lose control and crash into the lake. Sunday says before the incident, the SUV stopped in a private drive that runs perpendicular to the dam road. Sunday says the SUV then accelerated across the dam road, over the side of the dam and into the water.
