U.S. Sen. Mike Johann's is warning that an important deadline is nearing for residents in seven Nebraska counties who suffered damages in the last year's devastating Missouri river flooding.

The flood destroyed farm fields, homes and businesses.

The small business administration is offering home, business and economic injury disaster loans for Nebraskans who experienced damage between May and August 2011.

Johann's says that those Nebraskans in Burt, Cass, Douglas, Otoe, Sarpy, Thurston and Washington counties have until July 18 to apply for the SBA disaster loans.

Applicants will need to refer to FEMA's Iowa declaration 12895/12896, which includes contiguous Nebraska counties.

Loan terms and eligibility requirements can be found on the SBA's website at http://1.usa.gov/jz37l3 or by calling 800-659-2955.
