Lincoln man arrested for trying to rob coffee shop

Lincoln police say the suspect threatened a coffee shop employee, but walked away empty handed.

It happened at around 6:30 Thursday morning. Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says 24-year-old Jeffrey Sheppard walked up to Lincoln Espresso near 16th & O and demanded money from the employee inside. Officer Flood says Sheppard made verbal threats to the employee, however, she refused to give him money. Police say he left with no money, and officers found him nearby a short time later. He was arrested for attempted robbery.
