7-yr-old Omaha girl drowns in apartment pool

A 7-year-old girl has died in Omaha after being pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool at an apartment complex.

A woman tried to save the child when she was found in the pool around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses say she pulled the child out of the water at the Reserve Apartments in north Omaha. It's not clear how long the girl had been under water.

Omaha police say she was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Her name was not immediately released.
