A marine who was killed in Afghanistan last month will be laid to rest in Nebraska.  Funeral services are scheduled Friday at a Catholic church in York for 21-year-old Lance Cpl. Hunter Hogan, who died June 23 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province.

A military burial ceremony will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in York. The military says Hogan is from Norman, Ind., but he was born in Nebraska and still has family there.

A memorial service for Hogan is also scheduled Friday in a southern Indiana town where he graduated from high school. Hogan was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune.
