A narcotics compliance check at a local smoke shop in Lincoln leads to the seizure of suspected K-2.
Lincoln police report the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force recently conducted narcotics compliance checks at local smoke shops. The only location with noted violations was Dirt Cheap, 2705 Randolph Street. Police say on Friday at around 11:30 a.m., a search warrant was served at the business.
Investigators seized 1,192 canisters of suspected K2, a synthetic cannabinoid. Paraphernalia commonly used for ingesting illegal substances was also located at the business. Police say both defendants should have reasonably known the paraphernalia located within Dirt Cheap was being sold with the intent for buyers to use in conjunction with the synthetic cannabinoids the business also sells. Paraphernalia seized during the service of the warrant included 1,807 pipes, 1,101 package of rolling papers, 362 scales and 249 grinders.
The business owner, 33-year-old Allen E. Peithman, and an employee, 21-year-old Amber R. Bertschinger, were lodged at the Lancaster County Jail.
Peithman was cited for Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (synthetic cannabinoid) within 1000 feet of a playground (State Statute 28-416, 28-405); and, Possession with intent to deliver drug paraphernalia within 1000 feet of a playground (State Statute-28-442).
Bertschinger was cited for Delivery of controlled substance (synthetic cannabinoid) w/in 1000 feet of a playground (28-405 and 28-416); and, Delivery of drug paraphernalia within 1000 ft. of a playground (28-442).
