Gas Leak In The Highlands

A natural gas leak in the Highlands kept fire crews busy this morning.

It happened near Northwest 7th and West Cuming Street just before 1am.

Fire captain Guy Pinkman says the dry weather caused the gas line to rupture.

It took Black Hills Energy about 3 hours to fix the line.

Pinkman says a few homes were evacuated just to be safe, but no one was injured.
