The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in effect from noon Wednesday until 8 PM CDT. Channel 8 Eyewitness News Meteorologist Kevin Coskren says temperatures will rise into the 90s by noon and peak at around 100 degrees by 3 or 4 PM before cooling slowly through the evening.

The heat index could climb to 105 to 110 degrees.
