Two men are in custody after trying to cash thousands of dollars worth of forged checks at several Wells Fargo banks yesterday.

Police say Renaldo Fuentes–Palma and Adner Santana cashed forged checks totaling more than $15,000 at the 66th and O Street branch before attempting to cash checks at the branch near 70th and Pioneers.

"One man, Renaldo Fuentes–Palma remained at the bank...when officers arrived he was arrested. The second man left but was arrested a short time later at the Wells Fargo at 39th and Old Cheney," says Officer Katie Flood.

Police say Fuentes–Palma and Santana were arrested for several charges of forgery.
