Lincoln police say they've arrested two of three suspects in the case.

Police say 19-year-old Mason Shepard was identified as one of the suspects in a line-up.  He was arrested for robbery.  Later on Thursday, Police arrested 18-year-old Trevor Groves.  Police are still looking for one other suspect.

It happened at around 1:30 a.m. Monday at the Colonial Heights Apartments near 27th and Tierra just south of Highway 2.  Police Officer Katie Flood says the 20-year-old victim went outside to smoke when three men approached him.

Flood says the men forced him back inside his apartment and assaulted him.  They also demanded his rent money.

"One of the men placed him in a choke hold while two others repeatedly punched the victim in the face," says Officer Flood.

The victim spoke exclusively with Channel 8. He said he had just walked out of his apartment, locked the door, turned around and 3 guys with masks ambushed him.

"One was holding me and the other two were just punching me and ya know they were trying to beat me up and knock me out but I was like fighting basically I was not trying to go out cause they were trying to put me to sleep and I was just pretty much fighting for my life," Patrick the victim said.

Patrick was taken to the hospital with a skull fracture, broken nose, and bruises.  Police say the suspects got away with some cash.
