Nebraska football is rolling out new threads for its home game against Wisconsin this year. Players will wear a solid red uniform with black stripes on the sleeves. A big "N" sits boldly on the chest. And players will top it all off with the elusive black helmets that we heard so much about last year. So what do fans think?
Most of the Husker fans we spoke with Friday say it's the perfect amount of tradition with a touch of modern flare.
Elizabeth Zillig says, "It'll be nice to have some change! Some bright red color out there on the football field and yeah, they look really good!"
Emily Robinson says, "I think we need more white in it. The "N" is completely black and I think we need some more white."
Heather Ahrens says, "I like them except for I wish they would've reversed the colors on the jerseys, but I think the helmets are cool looking and I think as long as we win, I really don't care what we're wearing!"
Kirk Kruce says, "I think they're a little overdue. I mean, tradition is good and all, but tradition shouldn't come at the cost of change."
The uniforms will be worn during the home game against the Wisconsin Badgers on September 29th.
