Police say a Lincoln woman's vehicle was stolen with her dog inside.
Lincoln police say a 58–year–old woman reported her Chevy Trailblazer stolen from 16th and N around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. Her dog was in the SUV at the time.
Moments later, the victim got a call saying her dog had been found near 25th and T. Police went to the area and also found the victim's SUV with two people inside. Candace Foster and Traylon Lockett were arrested for theft by receiving stolen property. Police say the dog is credited for saving the day.
"I think that played into this. They wanted to reunite the dog with its owner and details around the recovery of the dog ultimately led to the recovery of the vehicle," says Officer Katie Flood.
