A new nationwide policy will affect how children get immunizations here in Nebraska.
According to the CDC, fully–insured children can no longer get government–purchased vaccines at publics immunization clinics beginning October 1st.
They'll have to go through their insurance providers.
Government–purchased vaccines fill gaps in immunization programs by providing vaccines to people who cannot afford them.
The CDC says this change is necessary to ensure vaccines remain available for people who have no other option.
