Officers have taken a 46-year-old woman into custody after breaking into a Hastings home.
The Hastings Tribune says the incident began Wednesday afternoon. The woman had said she'd poured gasoline on herself and was threatening to set herself and the house on fire.
Sgt. Bill Mann told the newspaper that a negotiator was unable to persuade the woman to give up and said she seemed to be getting more and more upset. That's when the decision was made for officers to break in.
Teams of officers broke through the front and rear doors of the house and seized the woman. No injuries have been reported.
The woman was taken to a hospital for evaluation. Her name has not been released.
