The Governor's mansion is celebrating 55 years with a new piece of artwork.
Governor Dave Heineman and first lady Sally Ganem invited the public to join in the celebration.
And as a gift, the Nebraska Quilter's Guild presented them with a commemorative quilt called "Meadowlark Dance."
Heineman says both the quilt and the mansion are special to the state. "This is a special house because it represents Nebraska. It represents all of us."
You can check out the quilt at this year's state fair or during a public tour of the mansion.
