Lawmaker's Ranch Scorched By Fire

Extreme drought is also plaguing Nebraska lawmakers.

State senator Tom Hansen just saw part of his ranch go up in flames.

The wildfire scorched 60 to 80 acres of it near North Platte yesterday afternoon. Hansen's wife reported the blaze around 4 o'clock.

Fire crews quickly contained it and stayed on the scene dousing hot spots until about 9pm.

Still no word on what caused it.
