Lincoln's new mandatory watering restrictions are keeping police busy.

The new rules for watering went into effect Thursday.  And the non–emergency line has been ringing off the hook!

Police have responded to more than 60 calls so far today.  No one is allowed to water their yards or even wash your car in the driveway on Monday.

A reminder, If your address ends in an even number you can water on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.  Odd numbers, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

If you're caught watering on the wrong day, police will give you a warning.  Do it again, and the fine could be as high as $500, jail time or both.

The city of Lincoln wants residents to use no more than 60–million gallons of water a day.
