Lincoln State Penitentiary Under Lockdown

The State Penitentiary in Lincoln is in modified lockdown right now.

Officials tell us last Thursday a large group of gang related members gathered following a fight between two inmates in the yard.

Officials say they are now on modified lockdown.

That means they still have visiting hours and can make calls, but they don't have an open yard and some programs have been suspended.

Authorities tell us it's all to ensure the safety of the facility and they will be assessing the situation every day.
