A man leaps out of bed after his roommate wakes him up to tell him his car is on fire. Now police suspect arson.
The man and his roommate used a fire extinguisher and a garbage can full of water to put out the fire... That quick thinking kept the entire car from bursting into flames.
Lincoln Police say it happened a little before midnight Tuesday near 26th and S Streets.
They say a friend saw a person bust out the window of the 1995 Ford.
Soon after, the interior was on fire.
The owner of the car and his friends worked together to douse the flames. Fire officials say they sprayed water on the car just to make sure the fire was completely out.
Police say a jug of gasoline was found in the back seat of the car.
Officials are considering the fire an arson. They have no suspects and the investigation continues.
