Lincoln police are asking for your help looking for an escapee.
Police Sgt. Jeri Roeder says 31-year-old James Bannister left Lincoln Community Corrections with a job seeking pass. Sgt. Roeder says after applying for a position at Big Red Keno on West O, he stopped in the Surplus Center. Roeder says he then left and stole a vehicle parked in the lot.
"He got into a tan 2000 Chevy Impala that was unlocked and had the keys left in it. Mr. Bannister and the vehicle have not been seen since and he did not report back to community corrections," says Sgt. Roeder.
Police say Bannister was wearing a red shirt, gray sweatshirt and jeans. The license plate number is R–R–Z–7–0–4.
