Doane College opened the 2012 volleyball season on Friday afternoon in Montana and picked up a pair of victories. Doane defeated the host school, the University of Great Falls, 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-19). The Argos are receiving votes in the NAIA national poll.
The day was capped with a 3-1 (26-24, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22) victory over Montana State University-Northern. The turning point in the match came in the third set. Doane trailed by six points, 18-12, before taking 13 of the next 17 for the victory to go up a set.
The Tigers will face two teams in the Top 25 tomorrow in Montana. They will head over to Helena, Montana, to face No. 21 Carroll College and No. 7 Rocky Mountain College.
