The Nebraska football team closed out week two of practice with a scrimmage Saturday morning at the Ed and Joyanne Gass Practice Fields.
The team scrimmaged more than 100 plays, though running back Rex Burkhead and quarterback Taylor Martinez saw limited action as Coach Bo Pelini used the practice to evaluate other players.
"We looked at a lot of guys," Pelini said. "This was a big evaluation. It was a lot of mixing and matching. There were certain guys we wanted to take a look at certain places, put them in situations and find out how they reacted. It wasn't a lot of full unit stuff, and I thought it was a good go. We'll look at the film and see what comes out of it."
The Huskers will take Sunday off and return to the practice fields Monday afternoon.
