A traffic stop attempt for speeding ended in a dog being shot by police. Lincoln Police say a driver was speeding near 33rd and Vine. They traced the car to the owner who lives nearby.
When officers arrived at the house, the owner said his son was the driver and he wasn't home. Police say two dogs came out of the house charging at the officers. The owner restrained one of the dogs. Police say the other dog, a black lab mix, charged the officer who shot it in the leg. It's expected to recover.
No arrests have been made.
