2 UNL students charged with selling pot in their dorm

The Lancaster County Attorney has charged the two freshmen with distributing marijuana from a dorm room.

UNL police say a resident assistant in Schramm Hall smelled burning marijuana Tuesday afternoon and called police.

Officers found more than an ounce of pot, a digital scale, plastic bags, and other paraphernalia inside the room.

18-year-old Christopher Merritt, of Northbrook, Ill., and 18-year-old George Schley, of Whitefish Bay, Wis., have been charged with distribution of a controlled substance near a school.
