police believe they've finally locked up the man responsible for two armed bank robberies in Lincoln. Cameron mitchell was arrested Friday afternoon at a days inn motel.

Lpd capt. Martin fehringer says, "we developed information that the person was in a motel out on west "O" and we were able to take him into custody."

the 60-year-old faces charges of bank robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Police believe he's responsible for the us bank robbery near 56th and highway 2 on June 23 and the union bank robbery near 22nd and highway 2 on July 16. Authorities think Mitchell's crimes didn't end in the capital city.

Fehringer says, "there were several bank robberies-in Omaha and one in council bluffs that I'm aware of-where it's believed that the same person is responsible."

the Lancaster county attorney and U.S. Attorney's office will decide whether this case will be filed locally or federally.

Police also arrested a woman in connection with the bank robberies.

45-year-old Ruth Cecetka of Lincoln was taken into custody today.

She's facing charges of aiding and abetting.
