20-year-old Noah Malson was driving on a highway in Kansas when he crossed the center line and hit a trunk head-on. His family says he was killed instantly and now they're opening up about his life.
A bag of pistachios, some wrestling medals and welding tools. Little mementos that give us a glimpse into a life taken too soon.
Noah Malson was known as someone you could count on. "He would help you out. He would be there for anybody no matter if he was having something on his mind or not. He was there for you first," said Annie McKinney, Noah's mother.
Kansas officials say Noah was driving on highway 99 near Marysville. THey say he went left of the center and hit a truck head on, killing him instantly.
"This is the one thing in your life that you have no control over. You have no control of pretty much anything and everything and everything else that happens. But when somebody dies, there's absolutely nothing you can do to change that," said Samuel Malson, Noah's brother.
Noah's mother says he loved working with his hands and would've graduated from the welding program at SCC. She always says he was a man of faith.
"They found one of my pink rosaries with Noah when he died. His girlfriend told me that he always felt safe with that rosary," she said.
For his family, the worst part is not knowing what could have been. "He'll never be able to go through life and experience getting married or having children, or going on with his life. Doing more good for others," they said.
Kansas officials say the other driver involved in Noah's accident was taken to the hospital but there is no word on his condition. Noah's funeral has been scheduled for Thursday morning.
