The Omaha Red Cross is sending 23 people south to help people battered by Hurricane Isaac.

Omaha volunteer Bill Dreyfus said that volunteers would take food to feeding stations or other spots where people gather.

Volunteer John Rich says he helped out seven years ago when Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.

He wants to help again this time because he saw how the Red Cross helped thousands of people. Rich says he thinks the state is better prepared than it was before Katrina hit.
