Courtney Richards posted three goals on Sunday afternoon to aid Doane's 6-0 victory over the University of Great Falls. The Tigers improved to 2-1 on the season.
Richards scored all three of her goals in the first half as Doane jumped out to a 4-0 lead. The first goal of the game came in the 11th minute as Richards broke away following a lead in pass by Morgan Karloff. Doane went up by two goals as Mia Juarez passed a ball in for Richards.
Doane went up 3-0 as Richards had another breakaway goal, the final one coming off a pass from Meghan Voigt. Rachael Dillon scored the final goal of the first half on a free kick.
In the second half, Sara Cushing scored twice for the Tigers. The first goal was unassisted while Voigt had an assist on the final goal.
Both teams had 13 shot attempts but Kelsey Stark held the Argos off the board as she collected six saves. The Tigers had 10 shots on goal, scoring six of them.
The Tigers will host their first home game of the season on Wednesday, September 5, at 5:00 PM as they face Benedictine College.
