Greg Zuerlein wasted little time in proving he was worthy of the St. Louis Rams' sixth round selection. The Pius X grad connected on a 48-yard field goal in the first quarter to give the Rams a 3-0 lead.
Zuerlein went 3-for-3 on the day with field goals from 48, 29, and 46 yards in the 27-23 loss to the Detroit Lions. Zuerlein was also a perfect 2-for-2 on extra point opportunities.
A rookie, Zuerlein earned Al-American honors last fall at Missouri Western after transferring from Nebraska-Omaha following the school's decision to cut football.
