GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) _ A 3-year-old Grand Island girl was startled from her nap when an SUV crashed into her home in Grand Island.
Grand Island Police say the vehicle struck the home Sunday and sheered away a corner wall. The crash narrowly missed the girl as she was napping. The girl's mother, Estela Matias, says she heard the noise and discovered her daughter, Katie, still in her bed.
Police say the driver, Eliseo Perez, hit the gas instead of the brakes after hitting a pickup. The SUV went through the wall and then struck a parked car.
