A young Lincoln girl wakes up to a stranger in her room.
The thirteen year old girl was too afraid to even scream.
When this young girl went to bed last night, she couldn't have played out the next few hours in her wildest dreams.
It happened around 5 am in the 29-hundred block of Merill street.
She says she woke up to get a blanket and saw a large shadow in the corner. She ignored it and went back to bed. Minutes later, she was awakened by a large man touching her leg. "It was really scary and he was just kinda like standing there for a while and I was shocked, I didn't know what to do," she says.
She says she tried to wake her sister but was too afraid to even make a sound. When she reached for her cell phone and shined a light on him... He left. "and he just like didn't say nothing-he walked away casually like nothing happened."
"it happened in a matter of minutes and he was just gone."
She says she woke her whole family when he was gone, too afraid to be by herself. "we were all freaking out! I was crying I didn't know what to do and we were all freaking out. And we all stayed in one room till my aunt came home so we could check the house and till the cops came."
The family says he got in through the window. It was wide open in the back of the house.
Neighbors are joining together to help, worried that this could happen in their community.
"I don't like anybody messing with my neighbors, we're pretty you know... Neighbors are supposed to help each other and watch out for each other and no, I'm not very happy about it at all."
The victim says he was a large black male. Last seen wearing a green shirt, blue shorts, and a shiny green bracelet.
She says she hopes he is caught so she can sleep a little better tonight.
