Update: Lincoln Fire & Rescue called to East High School

Students have returned to class following an evacuation at Lincoln East High School.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue received a call at around 10:15 a.m. Thursday that there was smoke coming from the vents.

Students were evacuated. An initial call to the fire department indicated there was smoke coming from the vents. However, when firefighters arrived, they could only smell a very strong smoke smell in the office area. After an extensive search, firefighters found no fire. Investigators continue to search for the source of the smoke.
