It's homecoming week on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus and students say there is no better way to get excited for Saturday's big game against Wisconsin. Fraternities and sororities have been working around the clock to perfect their homecoming floats to show school spirit.
This year's theme is "Once Upon a Homecoming." Disney characters and fairytales were incorporated into the Husker designs but the main focus of course is a victory over the Badgers.
"It's just a great experience to get everyone together and you know you kind of get to meet and work with people you don't normally spend a lot of time with. So I think that's a great aspect of homecoming...kind of bringing the Greek community together," Alpha Tau Omega member Zachary Hoff said.
"We go all out every year and it's a big deal. Everybody's out here 24 hours a day. We have people sleeping out here to watch the float and make sure nobody comes by and messes with it. But it's a lot of work and everybody just enjoys it a lot," Phi Delta Theta Jordan Toomey said.
Many of the floats paid tribute to Tom Osborne after he announced his retirement earlier this week.
Students will find out who won the title for best float tomorrow during half time of the game.
