Saturday's Big Ten football opener is also the debut of the new, alternative Husker uniforms. And now fans get their own jerseys.
You'll have to hurry though because they're almost all sold out. "Husker Headquarters" in Lincoln had 144 Tuesday and by Friday afternoon they were down to just four. The racks at the other stores in town are also empty.
"When they were first released back in August, the excitement was very big then and as the game's gotten closer and closer, the excitement is just through the roof," Blaine Braziel, Marketing Director for Husker Headquarters, said.
Black helmets are another hot item for Saturday's game against Wisconsin, especially the new mini ones. More of the new jerseys won't be back in stores until next week.
