The attorney for a Lincoln teenager accused of shooting another teen to death is asking the case go to juvenile court.

Zachary Neuberger was 10 days shy of his 18th birthday when police say he killed 19-year-old Naif Al-Kazahy on July 29th.

Nebraska law says anyone younger than 18 at the time of a crime must be transferred to juvenile court, unless a judge finds a "sound basis" for keeping them charged as an adult.

If convicted as an adult, Neuberger could serve 25 years to life in prison.
