Teen drinking and driving statistics are headed in the right direction
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 05, 2012
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducted a survey among teens and discovered a victory in the fight against drinking and driving and teens.
The national Youth Risk Behavior Survey conducted among high school students 16 years and older shows that drinking and driving among teens has decreased 54% in the past 11 years. Although teen drinking and driving has decreased, the study showed an increase in teens who are binge drinking. Nearly eight-five percent of high school students admitted to binge drinking.
“The fact that teen drinking and driving has decreased significantly over the past decade, shows that we are making significant strides,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “Although we’ve come a long way, the key is to continue this momentum and to carry these results into other areas like binge drinking and prescription drug abuse. We can do this through community education and stiffer regulations for violations. With all of use working together, it’s clear we are making a difference.”
