A Lincoln man who swung a knife while holding his baby daughter has been sentenced to prison.
40-year-old Shane Bennett was sentenced on Thursday to nearly 8 years to 17 years in prison. He pleaded no contest to felony child abuse, terroristic threats and attempted use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Bennett was accused of holding his 6-month-old daughter while he swung a carving knife at two men with baseball bats last March. His attorney says Bennett was trying to protect himself and the child, but realizes he put her in danger.
