Motorcycle Officer Suffers Injury

Posted: Updated:

It's been a rough couple of days for Lincoln police officers.

Police say around 9 a.m. Monday, a motorcycle officer tried to pull over a car near 13th and South for erratic driving.

That's when the driver, 30–year old Melissa Bryant, stopped abruptly, causing the officer to run into the back of her car and hit the pavement. Police say Bryant then sped away.

She was arrested for leaving the scene of an injury accident and reckless driving.

The officer suffered a fractured thumb, but is otherwise okay.

Also this week, two Lincoln police officers were dragged several blocks by a car during a routine traffic stop. Later Monday night, a female officer was punched in the face during an arrest at the 27th and Superior Wal-Mart. All three have been treated for their injuries.
