OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A 17-year-old Omaha student has been arrested after police say a scare at the school led to police finding explosive powders and drugs in the boy's backpack.

Police say the teen was arrested Friday on suspicion of possession of an explosive device, possession of explosive materials and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

School officials told police that a staff member saw an explosive device detonated on school grounds Thursday and saw the student walking from the area. On Friday, school officials approached the student and called police after finding questionable materials in his backpack.

An Omaha police bomb squad determined there were explosive materials and marijuana in the backpack.

Police say a search of the boy's home turned up more explosive powders.
